Annapurna Base Camp Trek is an enchanting adventure into the lush forests of central Nepal. This trip to the base camp of Mt. Annapurna (8091m) offers a variety of challenges and even grander rewards. The thriving biodiversity of the Annapurna Conservation Area is easily one of the highlights of the trek. Also, the culture of the ethnic Gurung community in the local villages is quite alluring. Finally, the views of the mountains in Annapurna, Gangapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Lamjung Himal ranges are the attraction on the trek.
Mt. Annapurna, at the height of 8,091 meters, is the tenth highest mountain in the world. As such, trekkers and mountaineers flock around the vicinity of this Himalaya to relish the wonders of nature. Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a trip that includes the beautiful natural and cultural riches of the Annapurna region in a single journey. Starting from Pokhara, the trip heads to Nayapul before passing through Gurung villages to the Annapurna Base Camp.
As the trekking trail starts from Nayapul, you head on a gentle ascent to Ulleri and continue to Ghorepani. After enjoying the sunrise view from Poon Hill viewpoint, the trek heads east to Tadapani before stretching due north. The trail runs alongside the Modi River to reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. From here, a short but challenging trail takes you to the Annapurna Base Camp. Relish the grand magnitude of the Mt. Annapurna (8091m) and its neighboring mountains before you begin the return trek. En route, you will take a detour and head to Jhinu Danda, where you can relax in the natural hot springs before trekking back to Nayapul.
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a trek with moderate difficulty with an average trail span of 5-6 hours daily. So, trekkers with good physical fitness can do the trek. Any previous trekking experience can always come in handy for this trip as well. Similarly, the autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) are the best times to do the trek.
