As the world is looking forward to a better year in 2021, Nepal is opened for tourists to visit. Unfortunately due to the covid-19 incidents worldwide all adventures trip are cancelled and still wanting to travel Nepal without worry, then Nepal government allowed to foreign travellers after October 17-2020. Also, The Department of Tourism has already started prepared necessary guidelines for climbers and trekkers who plan to visit Nepal.

However, the moment situations are getting calm down and Nepal is the safest country to travel during this pandemic time and many active climbers & trekkers already visited Nepal during the 2020 October & November season under following safety protocols.

a. Foreigners must present proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no longer than 72 hours before arriving in Nepal.

b. Foreigners require staying hotel quarantine at least 7 days at their own expense. On day 5, another PCR test will be performed. If the test report is negative they will be able to leave and continue with their trip on day 7.

c. Travelers must wear the mask and need to be informed to guide if any symptoms faced during the travel time.

d. Travelers’ must have valid insurance document which should be covered their medical costs and helicopter evacuation cost in case, any foreigners have problems with high altitude sickness and covid-19 infection.

We are expecting that Nepal government would remove quarantine before tourism season begin. Hopefully, it makes easier foreigners to travel in Nepal. However, All tourism related facilities are resuming, such as Hotels and accommodation facilities, Tourism related activities, Restaurants, Trekking and climbing permits as well as flight in low risk region.
