Also known as Sagarmatha in Nepali dialect, the mountain is revered as a sacred symbol in the country. As one of the most popular natural wonders in the world, Mt. Everest also housed many famous trekking trails. Everest Base Camp Trek is one of these journeys across its foothill that highlights the riches of the region.

Initially, the trip to Everest Base Camp starts from Kathmandu with a scenic flight to Lukla. Then, you gradually ascend across the Khumbu Valley to reach the base camp. From Lukla, you follow the Dudh Koshi River and reach Namche Bazaar. After spending a day at this wonderful town, you make way to Tengboche. The majestic Himalayas like Ama Dablam (6856m), Nuptse (7861m), and Island Peak (6189m) offer you a great company as you trek through numerous Sherpa villages. Further, you trek past Dughla and Lobuche to reach Gorakshep. Finally, you get to visit the Everest Base Camp and follow with another trek to Kalapatthar viewpoint. After relishing panorama of mountains like Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8485m), and Mt. Everest, you descend to Lukla.

Experience Required

Everest Base Camp Trek is a challenging trek in the Everest region that reaches a maximum altitude of 5,545 meters. So, trekkers need to have great physical fitness and preparation for the trek. On average, trekkers might have to walk around 5-6 hours per day that can stretch to 8-9 hours on some days. Also, we arrange ample time to acclimatize so trekkers will find it easy to adapt to the altitude. However, we do advise them to stay alert for any symptoms of altitude sickness.This trek will be most suitable and ideal time to do in autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May).
