Yala Peak

Yala Peak is an ideal trekking peak in the Langtang region of Nepal, which relatively simple, non-technical climb. The summit is surrounded by steep drops and views are amazing from the summit.

Yala peak the most frequently climbed trekking peak in the Langtang region. It is a low-altitude peak, also a good option and an opportunity to develop the skills for a basic level of mountain beginner.

Yala peak does not require previous climbing experience. However, after the proper acclimatize from Langtang trek, it is possible to attempt. During climbing you will able to see the impressive Shishapagma (8013m), the one 8,000-metre-plus peak in Tibet including Langtang Lirung (7227m), Dorje Lakpa (6996m) and Gangchempo (6388m). The rest of the range consists of peaks rising to around 6500m on the Nepal and China border but mainly north of the valley and a subsidiary range of 5-6000m making up the southern arm of the valley.

The climbing route is mostly on steeps moraine from base camp but it is interspersed with some interesting scrambling until just below the summit, which is fairly straightforward leads to the summit tower. The base camp of the Yala peak is an alpine meadow for Yak-grazing.
