Yala Peak

Yala Peak is an ideal trekking peak in the Langtang region of Nepal. It is relatively easy and non-technical climb.

The Yala peak is a frequently climbing trekking peak in the Langtang region. It is located near the Tsergo-Ri 5,033m, which is the most visited trekking peak in the region. The Yala Peak doesn’t require previous climbing experience to climb. After the Tsergo-Ri climb, trekkers can set up camp to climb Yala Peak the next day, which can be an extraordinary climbing experience.

This trip starts from Syabrubensi, which is located a few hours north of Kathmandu. Following the Langtang River from here, you go past Lama Hotel and continue to Langtang Village. As the views of the Langtang Himal range join you on the trek, you reach Kyanjin Gompa. Here, you can explore the local village or hike up Kenjing Ri 4,770m to acclimatize. Then, the next day you will be trek 5-6 hours to Yala peak base camp. The base camp located 4800m with and from the base camp you can see Gangchempo 6,388m, Tsego- Ri 5,033m and Naya Khang 5,800m so on.

On the day of the summit, the climbing routes follow the southwest side, which leads through an easy, rocky train with step block climbing to the summit. The yala peak summits offer you the most impressive views: Shishapagma 8,027m in the northeast), Langtang Lirung 7,227m, Dorje Lakpa 6,996m, Gangchempo 6,388m and many more peaks. The view from Yala peak to the north, west and south similar to Tsergo- Ri but you can see a superb view to the east and northeast, which is blocked from Tsergo Ri by Yala Peak. Also, the landscape of the view in the west within Yala Peak and Langtang Lirung including the Tsergo Ri is revealing.
